Equinix has announced the global expansion of its Fabric Geo Zones, a network-level solution that enforces data sovereignty by keeping data within defined geographic boundaries across interconnected clouds and providers. This helps enterprises comply with complex regulations like GDPR, LGPD, and APRA by preventing unauthorized cross-border data routing, even during outages or failovers. Fabric Geo Zones operates at the network layer, offering stronger control than single-cloud or software overlay solutions, and is available in preview across multiple countries with EU availability coming soon. This expansion supports regulated industries and global enterprises in securely managing data across multicloud environments.
