The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has begun a phased review of daraxonrasib, an investigational drug by Revolution Medicines for pancreatic cancer, following unprecedented Phase 3 trial results showing improved survival and quality of life. Daraxonrasib, designated as an orphan drug and high priority by EMA, targets RAS mutations common in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Revolution Medicines is also nearing completion of a rolling NDA submission to the U.S. FDA under a priority program. This accelerated regulatory process could bring a new treatment option to patients with metastatic PDAC, a cancer with very low survival rates and high unmet medical need.
