Dogecoin launches DogeOS testnet to enable smart contracts and boost transaction speed.

Dogecoin's team behind the MyDoge wallet has launched DogeOS, a public testnet for an EVM-compatible zero-knowledge rollup that allows smart contracts on Dogecoin without changing its base layer. DogeOS aims to increase transaction speed to about 300 TPS with 3-second blocks, a significant improvement over Dogecoin's current 30 TPS and 1-minute blocks. The testnet uses DOGE for gas fees, supporting DeFi apps like lending, stablecoins, and gaming. However, full security depends on a pending Dogecoin Core upgrade (OP_CHECKZKP) to verify proofs natively, with no mainnet launch date announced yet. Investors should watch for progress on this upgrade and developer activity on the testnet.

As Dogecoin's team advances with the DogeOS testnet to boost transaction speed and enable smart contracts, DOGE is currently priced at Rp1.508 on Pluang with a 4.19% decline in the last day as of Oct 09, 2026 17:42 WIB. The market cap stands at Rp261,37 trillion, and trading volume reached Rp24,48 trillion over 24 hours. Pluang users show a buying interest with 63% buy orders and a typical hold time of 110 days.
