LyondellBasell (LYB) and Mondelez International have developed flexible packaging for Marabou chocolate bars using LYB's Circulen Revive polymers, which contain 75% recycled plastic sourced via a certified mass balance approach. This innovation transforms hard-to-recycle mixed plastic waste into high-quality food packaging materials, supporting sustainability and EU recycling goals. LYB plans to scale production with its upcoming MoReTec-1 chemical recycling plant in Germany, enhancing circular feedstock supply. The collaboration highlights the growing demand for circular packaging solutions and the importance of industry partnerships to advance recycling and reduce plastic waste.
