Citi Trends posts 14.4% sales growth and plans faster store expansion amid strong consumer demand.

Citi Trends reported a 14.4% year-over-year sales increase to $230.9 million in Q1 2026, marking its 21st consecutive month of growth. Comparable store sales rose 13.9%, driven by more customers, bigger purchases, and better merchandising. Net income jumped to $7.8 million from $0.9 million a year earlier, with adjusted EBITDA more than doubling. The retailer plans to open 25 new stores in 2026 and accelerate to about 40 new stores in 2027, supported by strong performance in new locations and ongoing consumer demand for value-priced goods amid economic uncertainty.
