Cigna Healthcare introduces Smart Coverage, a new benefit that connects medical and supplemental health benefits to help employees access up to $7,000 in cash benefits for unexpected health events like injuries or hospitalizations. This industry-first offering simplifies benefit claims through automatic matching of medical and supplemental claims, reducing paperwork and improving financial confidence for employees with high-deductible health plans. Available from January 2027 for select clients, the solution aims to ease financial burdens during costly health events and increase enrollment in high-deductible plans by making supplemental benefits more accessible and understandable.
