Moscow Exchange to allow retail investors to buy Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT starting Dec 1 with limits.

Starting December 1, 2026, Russia's Moscow Exchange (MOEX) will enable retail investors to buy Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT through spot trading, marking a shift from derivative-only crypto exposure. Retail investors must pass a knowledge test and face an annual purchase limit of 300,000 rubles (~$3,600). Qualified investors have no such limits and access more assets. This move integrates crypto trading into MOEX's existing systems and involves partnerships with digital depositories and major banks like Sberbank and VTB. It aims to bring transparency and regulatory oversight to Russia's crypto market, though much trading is expected to remain off-exchange.

Moscow Exchange's upcoming launch of Bitcoin spot trading for retail investors is noted here with Pluang's cryptocurrency market data as of Oct 12, 2026 21:12 WIB. Among 50 major cryptocurrencies priced on Pluang, 31 rose and 18 fell today. Notable movers include Basic Attention Token (BAT) at Rp2.674 with a 1-day change of +5.91%, PancakeSwap (CAKE) at Rp41.862 up 5.07%, and The Sandbox (SAND) at Rp1.110 down 4.74%.
