Broadwind has sold its Abilene, Texas wind tower manufacturing facility to IES Infrastructure for up to $19.5 million, marking its strategic exit from the wind market. This follows a previous sale of its Manitowoc facility, allowing Broadwind to focus on higher-growth power generation and critical infrastructure markets. The company plans to reinvest proceeds into expanding machining and specialty manufacturing capabilities and withdraws its 2026 financial guidance due to this shift. Most employees at the Abilene facility will transition to IES Infrastructure after the lease ends in September 2026.
