BNB Chain deployed the BEP-675 upgrade on its BSC Testnet, increasing throughput from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second, an 88% improvement. This was achieved by eliminating redundant block execution, reducing validator processing time from 125ms to 15ms, and allowing blocks to use gas limits more efficiently without changing block intervals. The upgrade addresses bottlenecks caused by MEV inefficiencies and maintains security and finality guarantees. Following successful testnet results, BNB Chain plans to validate the upgrade on mainnet and pursue further scaling improvements in 2026.
