BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo highlighted robotics as one of the fastest-growing areas within the company's QNX software portfolio, which is embedded in 275 million vehicles. The QNX software, traditionally used in automotive safety systems, is now expanding into robotics applications such as industrial automation, medical instruments, and warehouse robots. BlackBerry has a $950 million backlog in QNX royalties, with a portion coming from robotics, signaling strong growth potential. The company is also partnering with Nvidia to enhance its software offerings in robotics and related fields, positioning itself for future growth in physical AI technologies.
