U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs see $228.6M outflows amid inflation fears and rate hike bets

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced net outflows of $228.6 million this week, following a $681.1 million outflow the previous week, driven by concerns over rising inflation and potential Federal Reserve interest rate hikes. The funds have lost about $615 million in October after starting the month with inflows, reflecting investor caution as Bitcoin prices dipped below key levels. Inflation data showing higher-than-expected consumer and producer prices increased expectations for further rate hikes, which typically raise borrowing costs and strengthen the dollar, pressuring riskier assets like Bitcoin. Despite recent outflows, cumulative net inflows since the ETFs' launch in January 2024 remain strong at $57.3 billion, indicating sustained long-term interest in crypto exposure through traditional markets.

Bitcoin trades at Rp1.456.250.994 on Pluang, showing a slight 0.39% decline in the last day. As of Oct 18, 2026 22:21 WIB, the market cap stands at Rp29.413,09 trillion with a balanced order activity of 51% sell and 49% buy, reflecting ongoing cautious sentiment among investors.
