Ethereum transfer fees drop over 85%, now under 10 cents due to network upgrades and Layer 2 adoption.

Ethereum's average transfer fee has fallen sharply from $0.72 in April to about $0.095, a drop of over 85%. This reduction is driven by technical upgrades like Fusaka, which increased network capacity and gas limits, and the growing use of Layer 2 solutions such as Base, Arbitrum, and Optimism that handle transactions off the mainnet. While cheaper fees benefit users by lowering transaction costs, they also reduce revenue for the Ethereum protocol. Despite this, Ethereum's price has rebounded recently, showing positive momentum alongside the lower fees.

Ethereum fees are reported to have dropped by more than 85%. For readers following the broader crypto market, here is Pluang's market snapshot as of Sep 20, 2026 12:51 WIB: out of 50 major cryptocurrencies, 24 rose and 25 fell.
