Ethereum gas fees hit a 7-day low, making transactions cheaper but signaling weak network demand.

Ethereum's gas fees have dropped to an average base fee of 0.0673 gwei over the past 24 hours, about one-sixth of the weekly average, reflecting half-empty blocks and reduced network activity. This low fee means transaction costs are minimal, benefiting users moving ether or tokens, but it also indicates weak demand on the network. The burn rate of ether, which offsets new issuance, has fallen to just 0.49 percent, allowing the ether supply to grow at 0.886 percent annually. Despite cheap gas, the Ethereum price remains stable around $2,500, with market direction likely influenced by upcoming US consumer price data and fund flows rather than network fees alone.

Ethereum base fee and network activity provide context for readers. For those tracking cryptocurrency markets, 35 of 50 major cryptocurrencies rose today. Notable movers include AVAX at Rp193.915 with a 3.43% gain and 71% buy orders, COTI at Rp241 up 3.42% with 75% sell orders, and GRT at Rp502 rising 3.28% with 77% sell orders. Data is as of Oct 12, 2026 01:01 WIB.
