Bank of America grants $50K to Big Brothers Big Sisters NJ to boost youth mentoring and workforce development.

Bank of America awarded a $50,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties (BBBSEHU) to support its "Big Futures through Mentoring & Workforce Development" program. This initiative connects youth aged 14-24 from underrepresented communities to career exploration, college readiness, and economic opportunities in fields like healthcare, finance, and STEM. The program includes mentoring, job shadowing, internships, and a pilot with St. Peter's University where college students mentor younger participants while earning academic credit and pay. BBBSEHU aims to increase high school graduation and college enrollment rates, helping youth achieve better lifetime earnings and economic mobility.
