Microsoft is negotiating with AI company Anthropic to provide its Maia 200 AI chips, though no deal has been finalized. Anthropic, facing computing capacity issues, currently uses Nvidia GPUs and has agreements with Amazon and Google for AI chip resources. A partnership with Microsoft would boost its computing power and mark a win for Microsoft, which trails Amazon and Google in AI chip supply. Microsoft’s Maia 200 chip offers improved efficiency and is already deployed in some data centers, but it is not yet available on Azure cloud services.
