The exploit drained Aave's total value locked by billions and pushed USDC pool utilization to nearly 100%, freezing depositor funds. Liao suggests raising the borrow rate slope from 10% to 50% to deter rate-insensitive borrowing and restore liquidity quickly. The proposal aims to enable better price discovery and attract new USDC supply, with governance votes pending to implement these changes.
