The TON blockchain has upgraded its network to process transactions in about one second, making it 10 times faster with a 6-fold increase in block production. This upgrade, powered by Catchain 2.0, will enable sub-second finality on the mainnet starting April 10, supporting instant payments, faster trades, and responsive Mini Apps within Telegram. The faster network aims to enhance user experience for Telegram's over 1 billion users by making in-app transactions feel instantaneous. The next planned step in TON's seven-phase roadmap is to reduce transaction fees by six times, further improving the platform's efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
