Union Pacific and Canadian National Railway (CN) have signed a binding agreement to improve rail service across North America. The deal expands Union Pacific's operating rights on CN's Elgin, Joliet and Eastern corridor near Chicago and grants CN new rights on Union Pacific's network between Memphis, Tennessee, and Eagle Pass, Texas. This collaboration aims to facilitate freight transport between Canada and Mexico, offering customers more route options and strengthening trade links. Both companies emphasize that the agreement will boost growth opportunities and improve service reliability in the North American rail sector.
