Tripadvisor has agreed to sell its European restaurant reservation platform, TheFork, to American Express for $700 million in cash. This move allows Tripadvisor to concentrate on its core Experiences business while leveraging the value built in TheFork over more than a decade. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, and will provide Tripadvisor with funds to invest in growth, reduce debt, or buy back shares. TheFork generated $232 million in revenue and $28 million in adjusted EBITDA in the last twelve months ending Q1 2026.
