Toyota's March 2026 U.S. sales down 8.5%, but electrified vehicle sales rise 2.5% to over half of total sales.

In March 2026, Toyota Motor North America reported total U.S. vehicle sales of 211,617, down 8.5% from the previous year, while sales of electrified vehicles increased by 2.5% to 115,422 units, making up 54.5% of total sales. For the first quarter, total sales were nearly flat, with a slight 0.1% decrease, and electrified vehicle sales represented 50.5% of total volume. Notably, Toyota's Corolla Cross Gas and Grand Highlander Hybrid, along with Lexus's RZ and NX Plug-in Hybrid, achieved record sales. Despite production constraints and inventory challenges, Toyota remains confident in meeting its full-year sales goals, supported by a broad lineup of 32 electrified models across Toyota and Lexus brands.
