Between May 28-29, the Sui Foundation experienced three outages caused by bugs in its transaction and key generation systems, disrupting transaction processing and settlement. The first two outages were due to a bug in the new address balance and gas payment system causing invalid negative balances, while the third was triggered by a failure in the Distributed Key Generation system after validator restarts. Developers quickly patched these issues to stabilize the network, but the incidents exposed vulnerabilities in Sui's ecosystem. The outages coincided with a 15% drop in SUI token price, reflecting shaken market confidence. Moving forward, Sui plans to add stronger safeguards to prevent similar crashes and limit their impact.
