A consortium of industry leaders has identified five potential Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) hubs in Asia-Pacific after assessing over 3,000 sites, focusing on hard-to-abate sectors like steelmaking. The hubs are located in India (two sites), Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia, selected for their technical and commercial viability. Phase 2 will refine these hubs with detailed engineering, commercial analysis, and regulatory assessments to develop implementation roadmaps. This study aims to support industry and public understanding of CCUS as a key pathway to net zero emissions in the region, with new partners enhancing expertise and geographic reach.
