STMicroelectronics introduced the IIS3DWB10IS, a high-performance industrial vibration sensor with embedded AI processing, designed for condition monitoring in harsh environments. This MEMS-based sensor measures vibrations up to 200g at frequencies above 10 kHz, offering accuracy comparable to traditional piezosensors but with benefits like lower power use, smaller size, and easier integration. Its intelligent sensor processing unit (ISPU 2.0) enhances signal processing and AI inference at the sensor edge, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing downtime in industries using rotating machinery. The sensor is expected to be available from July 2026, priced at $25 per unit for bulk orders, targeting a growing market projected to exceed $5 billion by 2032.
