STMicroelectronics introduced the VL53L9, a compact direct Time-of-Flight 3D LiDAR module offering 2.3K resolution zones, a wide field of view, and 100 frames per second. Designed for robotics, industrial automation, smart buildings, AR/VR, and healthcare, it delivers precise depth sensing from 5 cm to 9 meters with low power and easy integration. This module supports advanced AI applications on small microcontrollers, simplifying development for spatial awareness and object detection. Mass production starts July 2026, enabling broader adoption of high-resolution 3D sensing in edge AI systems.
