STMicroelectronics has introduced the ST54M, the world’s first secure mobile chip featuring a hardware accelerator for post-quantum cryptography (PQC). This advanced single-die solution integrates NFC, secure element, and eSIM functions, enabling mobile device makers to meet upcoming quantum-resistant security standards while supporting diverse applications like payments, digital IDs, and car keys. Certified under Common Criteria 2022 EUCC and EMVCo, the ST54M is designed for deployment by 2030, helping manufacturers future-proof mobile security and user experience. Sampling is available now, with production and certification targeted for July 2026.
