The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) has launched the SPEC CPU 2026 benchmark suites, updating its industry-standard tools for measuring CPU, memory, and compiler performance. This new suite includes 52 benchmarks derived from real-world applications, expanding coverage to modern domains like AI, astrophysics, and neural machine translation, and supports a wider range of architectures and compilers. It aims to provide unbiased, vendor-neutral insights for server buyers and hardware developers to evaluate current and future computing systems effectively. The benchmarks are immediately available for download with pricing options for commercial, non-profit, and academic users.
