Sound Energy PLC has agreed to sell its remaining 20% stake in the Tendrara gas development in Morocco to Managem for a deal valued at $57 million. The sale will leave Sound Energy with $11 million in cash after repaying its €28.8 million senior secured notes, effectively eliminating its debt. This marks Sound Energy's full exit from Morocco as it also relinquishes other exploration interests there. The company aims to refocus on energy transition and upstream hydrocarbon projects outside Morocco as a debt-free entity. Shares fell 33% following the announcement due to the exit and project delays, with first gas now expected in Q3 2026 instead of October 2025.
