Sonoro Gold Corp has started a two-phase, 50,000-meter drilling campaign at its Cerro Caliche gold project in Sonora, Mexico, aiming to expand and upgrade its mineral resource. The program includes reverse circulation drilling, soil, and rock sampling, with Phase I running through fall 2026 and Phase II continuing into spring 2027. The campaign targets increasing the size, grade, and confidence of the resource, testing deeper zones, and exploring new concessions recently acquired. This exploration runs alongside plans for an open-pit, heap leach mining operation currently in the permitting stage, with a projected 10-year mine life and processing capacity of 16,000 tons per day.
