Smackover Lithium awards key construction contract for Arkansas lithium project ahead of investment decision

Smackover Lithium, a partnership between Standard Lithium and Equinor, has awarded an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract to S&B Engineers and Constructors for the Central Processing Facility of its South West Arkansas lithium project. This facility will produce 22,500 tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium carbonate. The contract represents about two-thirds of the project's capital expenditure and includes early work to de-risk the project ahead of a final investment decision expected in 2026. The company is also finalizing customer offtakes and project financing to move forward with the development.
