Smackover Lithium awards EPCM contract for Arkansas lithium project ahead of investment decision

Smackover Lithium, a partnership between Standard Lithium and Equinor, has signed an EPCM contract with Wood Group USA for the well field development of the South West Arkansas Project. This project aims to produce 22,500 tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium carbonate, supporting the US domestic supply chain for critical minerals. The contract covers engineering, procurement, and construction management of well pads, pipelines, and related facilities, with a final investment decision expected in 2026. This step advances the project towards construction and commercial lithium production using direct lithium extraction technology.
