Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) has finished a $32 million project expanding gigabit broadband internet to over 6,700 previously unserved homes in Franklin County, Virginia. Funded partly by the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI) and local contributions, this expansion improves internet access for rural residents and businesses. The project strengthens local infrastructure, offering faster, reliable internet and supporting community growth. Shentel continues to focus on broadband service in smaller and rural markets.
