Select Medical and Carilion Clinic to build a new 50-bed rehab hospital in Roanoke, VA, opening in 2028

Select Medical Corporation and Carilion Clinic have formed a joint venture to build and operate a new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Select Medical will be the majority owner and manager, with construction starting in spring 2026 and the hospital expected to open by spring or summer 2028. This new facility will replace Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital's existing 34-bed rehab unit and aims to enhance rehabilitative care for patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries.
