Safe Bulkers, Inc. announced agreements to acquire four newbuild dry bulk vessels from Japan, including three Kamsarmax class (82,000 dwt) and one Capesize class (182,000 dwt), with deliveries scheduled through 2029. The three Kamsarmax vessels will be financed from cash reserves, while the Capesize vessel will be acquired via a finance lease with purchase options. All vessels comply with the latest international environmental standards, including IMO GHG-EEDI Phase 3 and NOx-Tier III regulations, supporting the company's strategy to maintain a modern, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly fleet. This acquisition expands Safe Bulkers' orderbook to eleven newbuild vessels, including two methanol dual-fueled ships, with deliveries planned from 2026 to 2029.
