DEEP Robotics has deployed AI-powered robot dogs in Zhejiang's West Lake Longjing tea region to transport freshly picked spring tea leaves down steep, narrow mountain paths. This innovation addresses the traditional bottleneck where farmers manually carry heavy baskets, risking injury and slowing transport, which can degrade tea quality if not processed quickly. The robots, including the LYNX M20 and X30 models, navigate challenging terrain to deliver leaves to processing workshops within the critical one-hour freshness window, improving productivity and preserving premium tea quality. This effort is part of a broader smart supply chain ecosystem developed with JD Logistics to enable same-day harvest and shipment, aiming to modernize and digitize the centuries-old tea industry.
