Robinhood has launched its Ventures Fund I, a publicly traded closed-end fund on the NYSE, allowing 150,000 retail investors access to private companies like OpenAI and Stripe without accreditation requirements. The fund offers daily liquidity and charges only a management fee, unlike typical venture funds that also take a profit share. This initiative aims to democratize early-stage investing and enable retail investors to participate in private market growth before IPOs. Robinhood plans to expand retail involvement in early funding rounds, making private market investing more accessible to everyday investors.
