Ripple, Clearpool, and Cicada Partners have partnered to create an onchain lending model on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for institutional investors. The loans will be denominated in Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and target fintechs, payment firms, and crypto service providers needing working capital. Clearpool will provide the lending infrastructure, Cicada will handle credit underwriting and loan servicing, and Ripple will invest capital alongside other institutions. This initiative aims to expand productive onchain credit beyond typical DeFi yield mechanisms and is currently in testing and community voting phases on XRPL.
