Illumina launches DRAGEN v4.5 to enhance genomic analysis for rare diseases and cancer research

Illumina has released DRAGEN version 4.5, a major update to its genomic analysis software that improves accuracy and capabilities in complex genomic regions and challenging samples. The new version supports multiomic data, machine learning-driven somatic analysis, and personalized variant calling, enhancing research in rare diseases and oncology. It also introduces oncovirus detection and better representation of global genomic diversity, helping researchers identify genetic and epigenetic biomarkers more effectively. DRAGEN v4.5 is available on-premises and in the cloud, with a webinar scheduled for April 30 to demonstrate its features.
