Ford Motor is restructuring by creating a unified Product Creation and Industrialization unit that combines its advanced technology, EV, digital, and manufacturing teams. This move accompanies leadership changes, including the departure of Doug Field and retirement of Kieran Cahill, to streamline decision-making and support Ford's goal of scaling next-generation vehicles and software under its Ford+ strategy. The new unit, led by COO Kumar Galhotra, aims to improve integration across EV, digital, design, and manufacturing operations, supporting a target of an 8% adjusted EBIT margin by 2029. Ford's Advanced Electric Vehicle Development team will continue leading future EV programs, including work on the Universal Electric Vehicle platform.
