Quotient Therapeutics has entered a multi-year collaboration with Merck to discover novel drug targets for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) using Quotient's somatic genomics platform. This technology analyzes naturally occurring genetic mutations in patient tissues to identify mutations that cause or protect against diseases like IBD. The partnership combines Merck's drug development expertise with Quotient's innovative platform, aiming to develop breakthrough therapies for IBD, a disease currently lacking disease-modifying treatments. Quotient will receive $20 million upfront and could earn up to $2.2 billion in milestones.
