The US District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that Syntel must pay $236.9 million to Cognizant and its subsidiary TriZetto, confirming compensatory damages and reducing punitive damages. This decision follows a jury verdict from June 2025 and includes attorneys' fees and pre-judgment interest. TriZetto must decide by April 10, 2026, whether to accept the reduced punitive damages or request a new trial. Atos Group, which acquired Syntel in 2018, will review the ruling and may appeal but states the decision does not materially affect its financial condition.
