Polygon Labs has entered Phase 2 of the Bank of England's Digital Pound Lab, collaborating with NOBO Finance and Dun & Bradstreet to explore near-instant cross-border settlements and portable credit identities using Polygon's Open Money Stack technology. The Lab provides a simulated environment to test interoperability between stablecoins and a digital pound without real funds or customers. This phase investigates if stablecoins and digital pounds can seamlessly complete opposite sides of international payments, aiming to reduce delays and fragmentation in financial systems. Results will inform future evaluations by the Bank of England and HM Treasury but do not imply immediate policy changes or endorsements.
