Royal Philips has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Spectral CT Verida system, the first AI-powered detector-based spectral CT. This technology combines always-on spectral imaging with AI-based deep learning reconstruction to improve image quality and speed, enabling faster and more accurate diagnostics in radiology, cardiology, and oncology. Verida supports simultaneous high- and low-energy data capture in one scan, reducing the need for repeat exams and enhancing clinical insights. The system aims to improve patient outcomes by enabling first-time-right imaging and is cleared for a wide range of diagnostic applications including lung cancer screening and treatment planning.
