Walmart is beginning to introduce tap to pay as a payment option at select Walmart and Sam’s Club locations starting August 24, 2026. The rollout will cover all U.S. stores by the end of 2026 and fuel stations by mid-2027, allowing customers to pay using contactless cards, phones, or smartwatches. Google Pay will be supported for tap to pay, and customers can add Walmart, Sam’s Club, and OnePay cards to digital wallets for easier checkout. OnePay also expanded Apple Pay support, enabling its cards to be used at Walmart and other locations, reflecting growing consumer adoption of mobile wallets in stores.
