UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched an investigation into PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard to examine potential anti-competitive behavior related to PayPal's digital wallet. The probe focuses on possible violations of the UK's 1998 Competition Act, particularly abuse of market dominance. While no conclusions have been made yet, all three companies are cooperating with the FCA. This inquiry comes amid rising consumer use of digital wallets for budgeting and installment plans during financial stress.
