OpenAI has introduced GPT-5.5 Instant, replacing GPT-5.3 Instant as the default ChatGPT model. This new version reduces errors in sensitive fields like law, medicine, and finance while maintaining fast response times. It also improves performance in coding, math, and reasoning tests, and adds enhanced context management by using past conversations and files for personalized answers. The feature is initially available to Plus and Pro users, with plans to expand access soon. Developers can access GPT-5.5 via API, while GPT-5.3 will be phased out over three months.
