OpenAI has introduced Lockdown Mode, a new feature designed to enhance security against prompt injection attacks where malicious instructions are hidden in web content. This mode disables live web browsing, image retrieval from the web, deep research, and agent mode to reduce the risk of sensitive data exposure. Although it doesn't eliminate all risks, Lockdown Mode aims to provide stricter protection for users handling sensitive information. It is currently being rolled out to ChatGPT Business accounts and eligible personal users.
