Novartis announced an agreement to acquire Excellergy, a biotech firm developing Exl-111, a next-generation anti-IgE antibody in Phase 1 trials. This acquisition, valued up to $2 billion including milestones, aims to strengthen Novartis' immunology portfolio by enhancing treatment for IgE-driven allergic diseases such as food allergy and asthma. Exl-111 is designed to provide faster and deeper suppression of IgE signaling, potentially improving symptom control and dosing convenience. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
