Netflix has signed a $500 million multi-year global licensing deal with AMC Global Media to co-exclusively stream The Walking Dead and its six spin-offs, covering 371 episodes. This deal expands Netflix's streaming rights beyond the U.S. to markets like the U.K., Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, sharing rights with AMC+. The move aims to boost viewer engagement by leveraging a popular, extensive franchise amid challenges with newer shows' retention. Starting in 2027, Netflix will also stream all spin-offs, coinciding with new seasons of "Dead City" and "Daryl Dixon." The agreement also improved AMC Networks' financial outlook as announced alongside their quarterly earnings.
