Mobileye announced it will launch a fully driverless robotaxi service in a major US city in 2027, starting with around 100 vehicles. This marks a shift from just supplying autonomous driving tech to operating a full mobility service, integrating its Mobileye Drive system with its Moovit platform for fleet and trip management. The company aims to grow the fleet to about 17,000 vehicles over five years, working with partners across the mobility ecosystem. This move complements its existing business model and could accelerate autonomous ride-hailing adoption.
