Missouri American Water has requested new rates from the Missouri Public Service Commission to support $1.6 billion in water and wastewater infrastructure investments from June 2025 to May 2028. These upgrades aim to improve water quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance for over 1.7 million customers across 30 counties. Key projects include pipeline replacements, treatment plant enhancements, and flood risk mitigation. If approved, residential water bills could rise by $15 to $23 monthly, with assistance programs available for eligible customers. The rate review process may take up to 11 months, with public input opportunities before potential implementation in June 2027.
